Self Portrait: I Shall Wear Purple

My artist group, the Dirty Dozen Fiber Artists, requires new members to complete a self-portrait within their first year of membership. Any style from abstract to realism is ok. These are often exhibited together when we have a group exhibition.

This work is inspired by the artwork of  Shepard Fairey  and the poem “Warning” by Jenny Jones.

Materials: Hand-dyed batik, fusible web, wool/rayon batting, silk thread, cotton batik backing
Techniques: Raw edge applique, machine quilted
