ANNE KOBUS
Originally trained as an architect, Anne’s professional careers have included teaching, 3D animation, website production, technology management and even forensic nursing. But alongside all these successful endeavors, there has always been fabric and sewing. In the rich silk of a wedding gown, the crisp linen of a summer suit, or the warm wool of a winter coat, she explored all the many ways that clothing and accessories can make the world just a little more beautiful.

Inspired by many textile art legends, Anne has explored multiple techniques using fabric to create complex works of art, both representational and abstract. You will often find artist-painted and dyed fabrics in her work as well as batiks and one-of-a-kind fabrics from around the world. She is now looking forward to integrating unconventional materials and techniques to expand the borders of her textile art.
ARTIST STATEMENT
I have always been drawn to the tactile quality of fabric, the way it invites touch and encourages engagement. I started using a sewing machine so young, I don’t even remember learning, just that it was always there, ready to bring my imagination to life. The world of textile art has opened my eyes and heart to the joy of discovering new ways to express myself. My artistic process is guided by curiosity and experimentation with new techniques allowing my work to evolve and adapt.
