Improvisation Studies

In my initial experiments in improvisational piecing I created these three 12 x 12 inch pieces using gradient fabrics and silk thread to create a triptych, each mounted on a canvas. Edges of the canvas are coated with Golden Pumice Gel mixed with paint to match the borders of the mini-quilts.

Materials: Commercial cotton, monopoly thread, wool/rayon batting, cotton batik backing
