Magnolia

I once lived in a house with a magnificent magnolia tree in the front yard. The blossoms are beautiful, the fragrance intoxicating, and the clean up from the leaves that fall throughout the year is exhausting! This piece is in honor of that tree with a blossom that will never shed it’s leaves.

Materials: Hand dyed cotton, cotton batik background, cotton thread, wool/rayon batting, cotton batik backing
Techniques: Raw edged applique, machine quilting
